Traditional Events are walking events with designated start time ranges. Don't worry though...you still walk them at your own pace!

June

19 June 2021 Orlando Downtown at Beardall Senior Center.
EVENT: 6/10K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

AVA Special Programs: Rockin' Around the Clock Walking the USA A-Z: M.

Description: The center does not open until 9 AM. The 6 and 10 km walks routes take you to historic downtown Orlando, Colonial Town Historic area, Lake Eola, and County Courthouse. Historical notes provided by POC JoAnne. Pass the large fountain in Lake Eola, which was constructed in 1957 to celebrate Orlando's 100th birthday and was rebuilt in 2011. Look for the famous "black swans" or take a ride in the swan paddleboats. The Walk Downtown accommodates strollers and wheelchairs (though some streets have no sidewalks). Restrooms and water are at the start, Publix, and Lake Eola.. Pets are allowed on a leash. Please carry water. (County requires masks in establishments and if not distanced outside.) Rating: 1A. Directions: GPS: 28.63175,-81.375518 [There is major construction on I-4 until 2022 from Exit 94 (Longwood) to Exit 75 (FL435/Kirkman. Additionally, I-4E and I-4W are slow weekday mornings. To the Beardall Senior Center at 800 N Delaney Av. from I-4W, use exit 82B, Anderson St. Left to Orange Av. Right on Orange Ave to 3rd light (Gore Av). Left, then left on Delaney to right on Bay to rear of Center. From I.4E use exit 82B. Right on South St. Then right on Orange Av to 4th light (Gore). Left and then left at Delaney to Bay and left to the rear of the Senior Center. From SR408W use exit 11, Rosalind. Stay in left lane to Orange Ave. Left on Orange to 4th light (Gore), then right on Delaney to right on Bay to rear of Center. From SR 408E, exit 10B, Downtown. Right on Delaney Ave. for 0.2 mi, then right on Bay to rear of Center.

3 July 2021 Lake Buena Vista at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf.
EVENT: 7/10K walk

START: Register between 9:30 and 10:00 am.

AVA Special Programs: Carousels Across America, Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: Disney requires a face mask and a temperature check to enter. Route is at the fun Disney Springs and LBV area with a 7 and 10K route. Enjoy dining, shopping, browsing, and strolling through the Springs and around the lake. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free. Please carry water and we have bottled water for a small donation at the start and water and restrooms are available in Disney Springs. No Checkpoints on this walk. These walks are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are Not permitted. Event: SE21/Y0841. Trail Ratings: 1A (sidewalks and level terrain). Directions: GPS: 28.3834527,-81.5006590. Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545, State Road 535. From Orlando use I-4W to Exit 68. Turn right from Orlando on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. Turn right into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue straight ahead to the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Try both golf courses, they are fun.

17 July 2021 Winter Park at Amtrak Station.
EVENT: 5/10K walk

START: Register between 8:30 and 9:15 am.

AVA Special Programs: Little Free Library, Rockin' Around the Clock, Walking with Veterans, Walking the USA A-Z: W.

Description: Come join us in Winter Park for a 5 or 10K walk. Register between 8:30-9:15 am. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free. Always carry water. Wheelchairs are not recommended due to lack of sidewalks but strollers are OK. Pets are allowed. Event: SE21/Y0394. Trail Ratings: 1A (sidewalks). Directions: GPS: 28.5970294,-81.3540675 . To 148 W. Morse Ave. Winter Park from Orlando take I-4E to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. Turn right (left from I4/W) for 1.8 miles into Winter Park. Turn left on New York Ave. Turn right on Morse Ave. and right into parking. From FL436N/S turn left on Aloma Ave. (right from FL436S) for 3.1 mi. Both turn right on New York. Turn right on Morse Ave. and right into parking.

EVENT: 5/10K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

Description: Come join us in The Villages for a 5 or 10K walk open to anyone. Register between 9-9:45 am. Walk fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. The routes on sidewalks and multimodal recreation trails provide views of Lake Sumter, Lake Sumter Landing Town Square, gardens, residential, business, and athletic areas of The Villages. Turn right on US 301 for 5.8 mi to County Rd 472. Turn right for 2 mi. Right at Buena Vista Blvd for 3.5 mi. Left on Old Mill Run to Inn. From US 441N go left at County Rd. 466 in Lady Lake for 2.9 mi. Left on Morse Blvd across bridge to first roundabout. Right on Old Mill Run. Right on Lake Shore Dr. to The Waterfront Inn.

Description: Starbucks is open and restrooms are available. Register for the 6 and 11K walks between 8:30 - 9:15 am. Walk fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. Walk instructions with maps provided; walk at your pace. You walk around lakes filled with wildlife, into and past wetlands, and thru different residential areas on sidewalks. Please carry water. 21 August 2021 Orlando South at Beardall Senior Ctr.
EVENT: 5/10K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

AVA Special Programs: Little Free Library, Mayflower, Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: The center does not open until 9 AM. Walk instructions have local points of interest. You will walk on residential sidewalks. The 5K passes the historic train station and Orlando Health complex before ending thru residential areas. The 10K shaded South route passes many lakes surrounded by Orlando's older homes which have retained their original charm and passes 5 Little Free Libraries. The walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs though some streets have no sidewalks. Restrooms at Delaney Park (10K) and RR station (5K). Please carry water. Leashed pets are allowed.
