DESCRIPTION
This is a 5 and 10km walk (3.1 and 6.2 mi) along oak shaded Winter Park downtown, residential, lakes, and college areas. The 10km passes Lakes Mizell, Virginia, and Maitland on shaded, oak lined streets; visits the Rollins College campus. You see Winter Park's downtown fine shops and the excellent restaurants along Park Ave. A must stop is the Morse Museum's display of Tiffany glass art. Strollers and wheelchairs permitted (some streets have no sidewalks). Leashed pets permitted but not in Central Park. Please carry water. Walk in daylight hours. Event: SE18/Y0394. DIRECTIONS
To To Lakemont YMCA at 1201 N. Lakemont Ave. from Orlando take I-4E to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. and turn right (east) for 3.5 miles thru Winter Park (becomes Aloma Ave.). Turn left on Lakemont Ave. at Mobile station. The YMCA is on the left just past the light at Palmer. From SR 417 use Exit 38, Aloma, and turn left, drive 6 miles. Turn right on Lakemont (Mobil is on the corner). The YMCA is on the left (just past the light) at Palmer. Park in the left lot. The 5K start is at the AMTRAK station 3 miles away.

COST
Effective September 1 this year, Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club events will cost $3 for every Traditional and Year-Round Event walk and include AVA/IVV credit for those recording walks. Minors under 13 may walk for free if not an AVA/IVV credit walker. There is no change for the 7 Southeast Florida Online Start Box walks that remain at $2 for the instructions and one dollar more for AVA/IVV credit. Club Members may purchase a discount package of 10 coupons for $2/walk ($20) for MFM YRE walks.


START/FINISH
Hours M-Th 5am to 10pm, Fri 5am to 9pm, Sa 7am to 6pm, and Su 12pm to 6 pm. Closed major holidays and the afternoon before. Walk must be completed during daylight hours. Ask at the reception desk for the walk box that is under the counter. Restrooms and water are available at the YMCA and along the route (Dinky Dock Park, Starbucks, Panera).
