DOWNTOWN DESCRIPTION: The 10k and 5k walks is in historic downtown and the route lets you see historic downtown Orlando, Colonial Town Historic area, Lake Eola, Amway Center, and County Courthouse. It passes the large fountain in Lake Eola, which was constructed in 1957 to celebrate Orlando's 100th birthday and was rebuilt in 2011. Look for the famous "black swans" or take a ride in the swan paddleboats. The Walk Downtown accommodates strollers and wheelchairs (though some streets have no sidewalks). Restrooms and water are at the start & Lake Eola. Walk only during daylight hours. Pets are allowed on a leash. Please carry water. Rating: 1A.

LAKES DESCRIPTION: The Lakes 10k and 5k walk routes are shaded and pass 7 lakes (including Lake Eola). Enjoy the historical notations as you meander by Orlando's charming homes located south of downtown. This route is a very pleasant meander through an area south of Downtown. The walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs (though some streets have no sidewalks). Restrooms at start, Lake Eola, and Delaney Park. Walk only during daylight hours. Pets are allowed on a leash. Please carry water. Rating: 1A.

DIRECTIONS
NOTE: During 2016-2020 period, there is major construction ongoing on Interstate 4 from Exit 902 (Longwood) to Exit 75 (FL435/Kirkman Rd.). Additionally, I-4W is slow from 7-9 am from Lake Mary and I-4E is slow from John Young Parkway. To Beardall Senior Center at 800 N. Delaney from westbound I-4, use exit 82B, Anderson St. Turn left to Orange Ave. Turn right on Orange Ave. and go to 3d light, Gore Ave. Turn left and then left at mid block into the Senior Center. From eastbound I-4 use exit 82B. Turn right on South St. Turn right on Orange Ave. and go to 3d light, Gore Ave. Turn left and then left at mid block into the Senior Center. From westbound SR 408 use exit 11, Rosalind. Stay in left lane to Orange Ave. Turn left on Orange Ave. and go to 3d light, Gore Ave. Turn left and then left at mid block into the Senior Center. From eastbound SR 408 use exit 10C, Downtown. Stay in left lane to Delaney Ave. Turn right on Delaney Ave. and go to 1st light, Gore Ave. Turn right and then right at mid block into the Senior Center. DOWNTOWN ORLANDO NORTH 5 and 10 km Walk Events Description: Starts at Marks St. Senior Center. Hours: Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. The brown file Walk Box is in the Cardio Room in the Fitness Center, on the lower shelf to the right of the TV. The Fitness Center is in the Southeast corner of the building, all the way at the end of the long hall that runs through the center of the building. Once in the Fitness Center, turn right to go to the Cardio room. This 5 and 10 km walk route is a tree lined and shaded walk near lakes, through residential areas, on the Orlando Urban Trail (Dinky Line section), Loch Haven Park, and along Ivanhoe Antique Row. Visit the Mennello Museum of American Art (Tu - Sa, 10:30 to 4:30 p.m., Su, Noon - 4:30 p.m.), the Orlando Science Center (Su - Sa: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), or the Orlando Museum of Art (Tu - Fr: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sa - Su: 12pm to 4pm, closed Mondays & Major Holidays) as well as shops along Ivanhoe Antique Row. Restrooms are available at Marks St. Senior Center, the Orlando Museum of Art, and area businesses. The walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs (though some streets have no sidewalks). Walk only during daylight hours. Pets are allowed on a leash. Please carry water. Rating: 1A.

Get off Exit at #84, Ivanhoe Blvd. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Go straight on Legion Place and merge into Orange Avenue, a one-way street. Keep left and turn left onto Marks Street. The Senior Center parking lot is on the left after the apartment building. The Senior Center is the large pink building through the trees.

From Disney/Tampa via I-4 east: Take Interstate 4 East to Orlando and use Exit 83A,Amelia Street. Go straight at the bottom of the ramp. Keep right and turn right at the next light onto Colonial Drive (State Road 50). Turn left at the second traffic light onto Magnolia Avenue, a one-way street. Turn left at the first traffic light onto Marks Street. The Senior Center is the pink building immediately on your right.

From East Orlando use State Road 408 West (East-West Expressway - a toll road) toward downtown Orlando. Take the Rosalind Ave., Exit 11A, traveling west (then merge onto South St.) and Exit 10B, Orange Ave traveling east. Turn right onto Rosalind Ave (Orange Ave from the west and it becomes Rosalind). Rosalind becomes Magnolia Avenue. Stay to the left and follow Magnolia across Colonial Drive (SR 50). Turn left at the next traffic light onto Marks Street. The Senior Center is the pink building immediately on your right.
