15-18 February 2019 2019 President's Day Weekend, Gulf Shores, AL
DESCRIPTION: Georgia Walkers and Emerald Coast Volkssport Clubs have sanctioned six walks in Alabama-Florida Gulf Coast. The walks are either 5 or 6K and 10 or 11K, rated 1A to 2B.

DESCRIPTION: : Join us for lunch after the 16 February walk. The Victorio's Oyster Bar and Grille will be available for lunch starting at 11:00. The finish will be at the restaurant that is 100 meters before Publix. Walk in residential areas north of Publix on interior trails and streets. Interesting routing. This is an area we have not walked in before. Wheelchairs and strollers are acceptable. Please carry water. Trail Rating 1A; Sanction No: SE19/113673. Trail Rating is 1A. DIRECTIONS: The start between 8:30-9:30 is at Publix at 540 S Hunt Club Blvd., Apopka, FL. Cost is $3. From I-4W or I-4E use Exit 92. From I-4W turn right (from I-4E go left) on FL 436W/Semoran Rd. for 3.8 miles crossing FL434. Turn right on Hunt Club and left into Publix. From Mt Dora use FL441S and bear left on FL436E for 2.8 miles. Turn left on Hunt Club and left into Publix. Start will be to the left of Publix. Call 407.620.3174 for info on day of event.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am and we will start the walk with in groups at 9:05. Walk fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. The 5 and 10km walks are to the north of downtown and are tree lined, shaded walks near lakes, through residential areas and pass Antique Row, Advent Health, Mead Garden, Lake Virginia, Loch Haven Park, the Orlando Museum of Art, Menello Museum and the Dinky Line Urban Trail. Restrooms are available at the start, Fresh Market, Mead Garden, and some area businesses. Wheelchairs and strollers are acceptable. Leashed pets are allowed but not in the Senior Center. DIRECTIONS: To Marks St. Senior Center, 99 E Marks St., from Daytona/Sanford on I-4W, take Exit 83, Colonial Dr./FL50. Left on Colonial Dr. and merge to left lane. From Disney/Tampa via I-4E use Exit 83A, Amelia; go straight at bottom of ramp. Keep right and turn right at next light onto Colonial Dr. (FL50E). From FL408W/E exit east toward Daytona onto I-4E. Use Exit 83A, Amelia; straight at bottom of ramp. Keep right and turn right at next light onto Colonial (FL50E). ALL: Left on Magnolia at 2nd traffic light, a one-way street. DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am and we will start the walk with fast and slow groups at 9:05. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free. The 6 and 10K walks weave thru varying areas including homes, wetlands, parks, lakes and businesses. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish and rear of golf club. Numerous eating establishments are available. The trails are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Leashed pets are allowed. Please carry water. Event: SE19/Y1345. Trail Ratings: 1A. DESCRIPTION: Please sign the park register on way to the Pavilion. Register between 8:30-9:30 am and begin the walk. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free. If you wish, you can join a group walk at 9:05 am. Join us for a Soup and Salad lunch for $5. RSVP Please or sign up on our website. The walks provide wonderful vistas and you will see many birds, wildlife, and much more. Bring binoculars and cameras. The walk will be on the berms around the 42-ponding areas as water flows from the Iron Bridge Water Treatment plant to the St. Johns. Strollers can be accommodated but not wheelchairs. (CR 420) and then right on Wheeler Rd. 1.5 miles. Parking is on left. Walk starts in pavilion near restrooms. Additional parking may be available on the right, depending on the weather. DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am and drive two miles to the start. Walk fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. These popular 6 and 10 km walks are enjoyed all year in Disney Springs and areas of Lake Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista encompasses the eastern side of Walt Disney World. The former Downtown Disney has been "magically" transformed to Disney Springs. Plan on 3-4 hours to enjoy the area. The walks take you through nature paths, condos, shops and lots of restaurants. Enjoy dining, shopping, browsing, and strolling through this completely restructured layout around the lake. Trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. DIRECTIONS: Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545, State Road 535. From Orlando use I-4W to Exit 68. Turn right on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL 535 (Apopka- Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. Turn right into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue straight ahead to the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. After registering try to make par on both golf courses, they are fun. Carry water for your safety. Event SE19/113683. Trail rated 1A. DESCRIPTION: We will walk about 9:30 am following our annual meeting held in conjunction with a great breakfast. Register between 7:45-8:30 am for the 5 & 10 km walks, order a delicious breakfast, and attend our short meeting with elections, 2019 Events discussion, awards, and your input comments. The walk is different from 2018. Walk fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. We encourage your participation to help us grow the club and develop events you want. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish. Wheel chairs and strollers acceptable but some streets have no sidewalks. Carry water for your safety. Event SE19/113683. Trail rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: The walk registration at Another Broken Egg Cafe in Winter Park Village at 410 Orlando Ave Suite N100A. From Orlando on I-4E use Exit 88, Lee Road, and turn right (from Sanford on I-4W, turn left). Cross 17-92 and curve right. Turn left on Webster, right on Denning (1st light), and right on Canton. After Publix, turn right into Winter Park Village to Cafe on the left next to REI. From east or west Orlando on Colonial use US 17N-92E to Winter Park Village.
