AVA Special Programs: 6/11K walk: Boardwalks, Bridges - Spanning the USA, Cities in Song, Ice Cream Parlors, Lakes and Reservoirs, Make a Wish at a Water Fountain, Points of Reference, Take a Walk In a City Park, Trekking With the Trees, United States Post Offices, Walk the USA - Street by Street, Walking the USA A - Z.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am for the 6K & 11K (3.4 & 6.8 mi) walk routes that weave through interesting residential areas and boardwalks ending past and behind some very nice residences. Much of the walk is shaded. The walk accommodates strollers and wheelchairs. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish only. Leashed pets are allowed. Trail rated 1A. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: To Starbuck's Coffee at 715 Bloom St., Kissimmee, from Tampa on I4E take Exit 64, Kissimmee, right to Celebration Ave. From Daytona/Orlando on I4W take Exit 64, bear left to Kissimmee exit onto US 192E to Celebration Ave. Turn right on Celebration Ave. From Kissimmee on US 192W turn left on Celebration Ave. From Cocoa & east Orlando on FL417S take exit 2, Celebration Ave. and turn left. Enter Celebration and go to 1st stop sign, turn left to Front St. Turn right to Starbucks at Bloom St. Park in any available place. Info on day of event, call 407.920.3174. DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-10:00 am for the 5 & 10 km walks on part of the Cross Seminole Trail and into the Soldier's Creek Park area on west Lake Jesup. It is an enjoyable and shaded walk. Wheelchairs and strollers are OK for the 5K only and pets are not allowed. The walk is free and event record books are stamped for a $3.00 fee. Trail rated 1B. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: To 761 General Hutchison Pkwy from I-4 use exit 98, Lake Mary Blvd, and go east. Turn right on Longwood-Lake Mary Rd. to Ronald Reagan. Turn left and immediately right on General Hutchinson Parkway to Park on the right. DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am for the 5K & 10K (3.1 & 6.2 mi) walk routes starting at Starbucks and walk to the Altamonte Springs Mall for a "cooler" walk. The walk accommodates strollers and wheelchairs. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish and Mall. Leashed pets are NOT allowed. Trail rated 1A. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: The start is at Starbucks at Renaissance Centre, 355 E Altamonte Drive, 1700, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. To Altamonte Springs Mall on I4E/W use exit 92, FL436E, turn right (left from I4W) for 0.5 mile. Merge to left lane crossing Crane's Roost Blvd, Festival Dr. and at 3d light (across from Toys R Us), turn left and then immediately left to Starbucks next to Whole Foods. Register and walk from Starbucks using instructions to mall. Enter thru a mall entrance between Sears and Barnes and Noble on south side. Call Ron Barna on day of event at 407.247.4548. DIRECTIONS: To Long Lake Park, 1350 Carolyn Dr., Oviedo, from Orlando use SR 408E (toll) to SR417N (toll) to exit 41, Red Bug Lake. Right crossing Aloma onto Mitchell Hammock. Cross SR 434 to Oviedo Blvd. (2d light). Left to FL 419E and right. Go 1.2 miles to Carolyn and right to start. From Daytona on I-4 to SR417S to exit 41, Red Bug Lake. DESCRIPTION: The Center opens at 9; register afterwards. The 5 and 10K walk registration is between 9:00-9:30. Walk instructions have info on homes and buildings on the walk routes. You will walk on downtown and/or residential areas south of town. See historic downtown Orlando, new Arts Center, art projects, Lake Eola, and the County Courthouse. The large fountain in Lake Eola, constructed in 1957 and completely refurbished in 2011 provides a nightly light show with music. Pets are allowed. Please carry water. Trail Ratings: 1A. Left, then left at Delaney to 1st left on Bay St. From I-4E use exit 82B. Left on Anderson St. Right on Orange go to 4th light, Gore. Left and then left at Delaney to 1st left on Bay St.. From SR 408W use exit 11A, Rosalind. Stay in left lane to Orange. Left on Orange to 4th light, Gore. Left and then left at Delaney to 1st left on Bay St. From SR408E use exit 10C, Downtown. DIRECTIONS: The Villages The Waterfront Inn is at 1105 Lake Shore Drive, hours 7m-6pm daily. From Orlando use FL408W to the Turnpike to exit 304. Turn right on US 301. Go 5.8 mi to County Rd 472. Turn right for 2 mi. At Buena Vista Blvd. turn right for 3.5 mi. Turn left on Old Mill Run to Inn on left. From US 441N go left at County Rd. 466 in Lady Lake 2.9 mi. Turn left on Morse Blvd. across bridge to first round about. Turn right on Old Mill to The Waterfront Inn on right. From I75N/S use exit 329, FL44, and turn right from south (left from north). Turn left on US 301 and go 5.8 mi. Turn right on Cty Rd 472 for 2 mi. At Buena Vista Blvd. turn right for 3.5 mi. Turn left on Old Mill Run to Inn on left. 19 August 2017 Urbain 40 Restaurant, Delaggio Plaza, off Sand Lake Rd.
AVA Special Programs: 6/10K walk: Points of Reference, Trekking with Trees, Walk USA St by St, You'll Never Walk Alone, USA A to Z: O.

START TIME: 10K: register between 9-9:30 am, walk at 9:30; FINISH by noon. 6K: 9:30-10 am, walk at 10. FINISH by noon.

LUNCH: Noon. We need preregistration/payment by 15 August for response to the restaurant. See below for registration.

MEETING: 1pm. We need a quorum of members for elections and motions. Please attend and see how we can grow club activities. Early membership renewals before 1 July are entered in a drawing for a gift card but you must attend the meeting to win.

DESCRIPTION: There will be 6 and 10 Km Guided Walk walk groups. A guided walk is conducted without instructions and volunteers lead and trail the group. This is a fun way to meet more members. The walks are in the Bay Hill area on residential Streets. Lots of shade. Please note walk group times. 10K walkers register between 9-9:30 am and walk at 9:30. If you arrive late, please walk with 6K. 6K walkers register between 9:30-10 am and walk at 10. Do not arrive late. For lunch please sign up on line and pay prepayment of $18.15 at a walk or mail check to Mid-Florida Milers to 26807 River Watch, Leesburg, FL 32748 by 13 August so it arrives by the 15th; we will pay by single check to avoid taxes. Lunch choices are: Urbain 40 hamburger, parmigiano chicken bianco, and Bolognese beef and pork (advise of dietary issues when paying). Lunch is about noon when walkers return, and is followed by the meeting. Wheelchairs and strollers are accommodated and pets are allowed but not in the restaurant. Trail rated 1A. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: To Urbain 40 at Delaggio Plaza, 8000 Via Delaggio Way, Orlando, use I-4E/W to Exit 74A. Right from I-4W and left from I-4E passing Turkey Lake and Dr. Phillips. Just past Della Dr. turn right into Delaggio. Turn left at 2d garage entrance and drive to far end. Go to the back elevator (KEATOR is written on the elevator); take elevator to the first floor. If you use one of the other 2 elevators, take it to the 1st floor. Follow walk signs to fountain in front of Urbain 40. Registration is on the patio. The 10K guided walk registration begins at 9:00 and walk promptly at 9:30; the 6K guided walk registration begins at 9:30 starts and walk promptly at 10:00.
