5 May 2018 Lake Buena Vista-Pirates Cove Adventure Golf
AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Amphitheaters, Animal Safari, Boardwalks, Bridges - Spanning the USA, Food For Thought, Make a Wish at a Water Fountain, Points of Reference, Walking the USA A - Z:O.

DESCRIPTION: Registration is between 8:30-9 am at Pirates Cove. The 5 and 10km (3.1/6.2 mi) walks are in areas near and in new Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista encompasses the eastern side of Walt Disney World. The walk takes you through the new and unique Disney Spring shopping complexes. Enjoy dining, browsing, and strolling through this completely restructured layout around the lake. The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545, State Road 535, Orlando. From Orlando use I-4W and use Exit 68. Turn right from Orlando on FL535N (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL535N (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. Turn right into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue straight ahead to the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Try either golf courses, they are fun. Information on day of walk, call 407.304.6394. DESCRIPTION: Library opens at 9 am. Register at 9:15 or so. Walk 6 or 10 km in the residential areas around Lake Charm, Sweetwater Park, newer residential areas, and the Cross Seminole Trail. Trail rated 1A. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish & Sweetwater Park. Stop for lunch on the 10K at THE FAMOUS TOWN HOUSE at 9K point. 6kers walk or drive there (1 km). DIRECTIONS: The library is at 310 Division St. From Orlando on SR408E (toll) use Exit 18 onto SR417N/Sanford to Exit 41/Red Bug Lake Rd. Turn right, cross SR426/Aloma and pass Miller's Ale House. Turn left on SR434W and cross Broadway. Pass Post Office and turn right on Franklin St. (light) to roundabout. Take 4th right onto Division St. and the library is on the right. From Sanford use US 17/92 or SR417 Exit 44 to SR 434. Left on SR 434 to Franklin St. Left on Franklin (light) to roundabout. Take 4th right onto Division St. and the library is on the right. DESCRIPTION: Registration is between 8:30-9:30 am. The 5 and 10km self-paced walks are open to anyone and fun for all. The route is on sidewalks and multi-modal recreation trails provides views of the Lake Sumter, Lake Sumter Landing Town Square, gardens, residential, business, and athletic areas of The Villages. The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Please carry water for your safety. Trail Ratings: 1A. DIRECTIONS: The Waterfront Inn is at 1105 Lake Shore Drive. From Orlando use FL408W to the Turnpike and exit at #304. Turn right on US 301. Go 5.8 mi to County Rd 472. Turn right for 2 mi. At Buena Vista Blvd. turn right for 3.5 mi. Turn left on Old Mill Run to Inn on left. From US 441N go left at County Rd. 466 in Lady Lake for 2.9 mi. Turn left on Morse Bv. across bridge to first round about. Right on Old Mill Run. Right on Lake Shore Dr. (first right) to The Waterfront Inn on right. From I-75N/S use exit 329, FL 44, and turn right from south (left from north). Turn left on US 301 and go 5.8 mi. Turn right on County Rd 472 for 2 mi. At Buena Vista Bv. turn right for 3.5 mi. DESCRIPTION: Park opens at 8am. Registration is between 8:30-10 am. With friends, alone, or with your pet walk 6 or 10 km in the Park's woods, on the shaded Seminole-Wekiva Trail, and residential areas along the Little Wekiva River. Leashed pets are allowed. DIRECTIONS: The Park is at 401 W. Highland St. Altamonte Springs. From Orlando on I-4E use Exit 92, Altamonte Springs/Apopka, and turn left. Right immediately on Douglas Ave. after crossing I-4. Left on Highland St. From Sanford take Exit 94, Longwood/Winter Springs. Right on SR 434 and very quickly left to the light on Douglas Ave..
