Traditional Events are walking events with designated start time ranges. Don't worry though...you still walk them at your own pace!

6 March 2021 Orlando South.
EVENT: 5/10K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

AVA Special Programs: Little Free Libraries, Mayflower, Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: The Center is open on Saturday, restrooms are available. Walk instructions have local points of interest. You will walk on residential sidewalks. The 5K passes the historic train station and Orlando Health complex before ending thru residential areas. The 10K shaded South route passes many lakes surrounded by Orlando's older homes which have retained their original charm and passes 5 Little Free Libraries. The walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs though some streets have no sidewalks. Restrooms at Delaney Park (10K) and RR station (5K). Please carry water and we have bottled water for a small donation at the start and checkpoints. Leashed pets are allowed. Event Y0395. Trail Ratings: 1A. Right on Orange Ave to 3rd light (Gore Av). Left on Gore, then SEE **. From I-4E use exit 82B. Right on South St. Then right on Orange Av to 4th light (Gore). Left and then SEE **. From SR408W use exit 11, Rosalind. Stay in left lane to Orange Ave. Left on Orange to 4th light (Gore). Left on Gore, then See **. **Left on Delaney at light. First left on Bay into rear of Senior Center.

14 March 2021 (Sunday) Lake Buena Vista at Pirates Cove.
EVENT: 7/10K walk

START: Register between 9:30 and 10:00 am.

AVA Special Programs: Carousels Across America, Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: Disney requires a face mask and a temperature check to enter. Our 1st Sunday event in years route is at the fun Disney Springs and LBV area with a 7K and 10K route. Pretty much see all of the Springs. Enjoy dining, shopping, browsing, and strolling through the Springs around the lake. Please carry water and we have bottled water for a small donation at the start and water and restrooms are available in Disney Springs. No Checkpoints on this walk. These walks are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are Not permitted. Event: Y0841. Trail Ratings: 1A (sidewalks and level terrain). Directions: GPS: 28.3834527,-81.5006590. Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545, State Road 535. From Orlando use I-4W to Exit 68. Turn right from Orlando on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. Turn right into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue straight ahead to the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Try both golf courses, they are fun.

20 March 2021 International Drive at Comfort Suites.
EVENT: 6/10K walk

START: Register between 8:30 and 9:15 am.

AVA Special Programs: Rockin Around the Clock (10K), Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: The 6K and 10K walks along I-Drive, a circuit of entertainment delights including Ripleys, Madam Tussauds, The 400 ft. observation Wheel, Titanic Experience, the 420 ft. spinning Starflyer, and mini golf, as well as 50+ restaurants and other attractions. Please carry water and we have bottled water for a small donation at the start and checkpoints. These walks are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are permitted. Event: Y1753. Right at stop sign and cross Universal Blvd then left on Canada Ave to hotel on left. From Florida Turnpike to Exit 259, I-4W/Tampa. Stay on I-4W in right lane and follow Orlando above. From the airport on FL528W to Exit 2. Right on Universal for 3.6 mi to Sand Lake Rd. Left on Sand Lake. First right on Canada Ave. to hotel on right. Park in lot.

EVENT: 6/10K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

AVA Special Programs: Little Free Libraries, Mayflower, Walking the USA A-Z: O.

Description: The Center has reopened and restrooms are available. Register for the 6 and 10K walks between 9-9:45 am. Walk instructions have local points of interest. You will walk on downtown streets and residential sidewalks. The 6K meanders past the Performing Arts Center, City Hall, Church Street, read in historical notes who Gertrude was (of Gertrude’s Way) and see Lake Eola. The 10K does all that plus visits the detailed Veterans Memorial at the Courthouse, circles Lake Eola, and visits part of the older Eola Heights District. The walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. Restrooms at the start, Lake Eola and Publix. Please carry water and we have bottled water for a small donation at the start and checkpoints. 17 April 2021 Christmas at Orlando Wetlands.
EVENT: 5/11K walk

START: Register between 9:00 and 9:45 am.

AVA Special Programs: Walking the USA A-Z: C.

Description: Varied birds and alligator sightings walking on dirt berms in this water reclamation Park. There is no shade so wear sunblock and carry water. We have bottled water for a small donation at the start and checkpoints. These walks are medium difficulty for strollers and wheelchairs when dry, but challenging when wet. Restrooms at start only. Directions: GPS: 28.5693567!4d-80.9966412. Orlando Wetlands Park is at 25155 Wheeler Rd., 40 minutes east of downtown Orlando on FL50E (Colonial Dr.) to Christmas, Florida. Go left for 2.3 miles on Ft. Christmas Rd. (CR 420) and then right on Wheeler Rd. 1.5 miles. Parking is on left.

Remember to walk the 10 fine permanent Year Round Events in the Orlando area and the 2 in The Villages, many shaded for a cooler walking experience: Celebration (2), International Drive, Lake Buena Vista/Disney Springs, Maitland, Orlando (3), Universal, The Villages (2) and Winter Park.
