DESCRIPTION: The Center opens at 9 am; register afterwards. The 5 and 10K walk registration is between 9:00-9:30 am. Walk instructions have local info on walk routes. You will walk on downtown and residential sidewalks. See historic downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, art projects downtown, and the County Courthouse. The large fountain in Lake Eola was refurbished in 2011. Pets are allowed. Always carry water. Trail Ratings: 1A. For information call Rosemary Barna at 407.920.3174. email@example.com.
DIRECTIONS: To the Beardall Senior Center at 800 N Delaney From I-4W, use exit 82B, Anderson. Left to Orange. Right on Orange and go to 3rd light, Gore. Left on Gore then left into the center. From I-4E use exit 82B. Right on South St. Right on Orange go to 4th light, Gore. Left and then left into center. From SR 408W use exit 11A, Rosalind. Left on South St, and stay in left lane to Orange. Left on Orange to 4th light, Gore. Left and then left into center. From SR408E use exit 10C, Downtown. Stay in left lane to Delaney. DESCRIPTION: The 5K and 10K (3.1/6.2 mi) shaded walks register between 8:30-10 am in the State Park. A guided walk is at 9 am. Donate for a lunch to enjoy on this St. Johns River Island. Hamburger/Hotdog BBQ for a $5 donation starting at 11:00 a.m. Bring your own drinks. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish. Leashed pets are allowed. Trail rated 2B. Always carry water. DIRECTIONS: To the park at 2309 River Ridge Rd. from Orlando on I-4E take exit 114, turn left on SR472W, and exit right onto US 17-92. Turn left on SR15 Alt. Turn left on W Beresford Ave. Turn right on S. Beresford Rd. Turn left on Old New York Ave. Turn left on Hontoon Rd. (CR 4125) for 3.4 miles. Turn left into the Hontoon Island State Park parking lot.
From Daytona/Port Orange from SR44 & I-4 (exit 118) drive west about 7 miles thru DeLand; bear left on Old New York Ave (CR 4110) for 1.9 miles; left on Hontoon Rd. (CR 4125) for 3.4 miles. Turn left into the Hontoon Island State Park parking lot
From both directions: walk to the nearby boat dock. The ferry will come for you. After exiting the ferry, register for the walk at the pavilion, and you start the walk. Info on day of event, call John at 781.686.0660. GPS: 28.976368, -81.357031.

14 October 2017 Bike Event at Deltona Green Springs Park

DESCRIPTION: Happy Wanderers sponsor this event. Register between 9-9:30 am; Guided Bike at 9:30 am. Route is 25km Guided Bike event on the East-Central (rail) Trail from Deltona/Enterprise to Osteen and east. Cyclers are responsible for their own bikes and all riders are recommended to wear helmets and safety gear as appropriate. Bring water, sunscreen. DIRECTIONS: To 994 Lakeshore Dr., Deltona, from I-4 take Exit 108 and turn left towards DeBary/Deltona and follow signs for Green Springs Park. Go approximately 2 miles (4th light) to Providence Blvd (there is a 7-11 on the right-hand corner) and turn right. Go .3 mi to a "T" intersection and turn left onto Lakeshore Dr. Continue 1 mile and just past the Deltona Community Ctr (on left) turn left into the park entrance road. Parking is limited. Overflow parking will be at the Deltona Community Ctr near the park entrance turn and participants can ride the short distance into the park from there if needed. AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Boardwalks, Bridges (SR 408), Food for Thought (Oranges), Points of Reference (Milers), Lakes and Reservoirs (Underwood), Walk the USA St. by St. (on map), Walk in a City Park, USA A to Z: O.
DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30 and 10:00 am for the 5 and 10 Km walks which are in the park, residential areas, and circle Lake Underwood on a partially shaded route. Trail rated 1A. The walk accommodates strollers but wheelchairs with difficulty. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish and city parks. Pets are allowed on a leash. Always carry water. DIRECTIONS: To the start at Langford Park at 1808 Central Ave., Orlando, toll use I-4W/E exiting onto FL-408E to exit 12, Bumby Ave. Left on Bumby. At light left on Central Blvd. Non Toll from I-4E use exit 83A (I-4W use exit 84) and continue straight to Colonial Dr. Turn right (westbound turn left) on Colonial Dr. and go 1.5 miles to Hampton Ave. Turn right on Hampton. Turn right on Central and immediately park in the church lot on the corner. Walk on Central left to park entrance at drive in (pass the building) and left following the sidewalk to end at Pavilion #3.
From east Orlando use Colonial to Bumby Ave. Turn left on Bumby. Turn Right on Central Blvd. From SR 408W use Crystal Lake exit. Go straight on South St. to Bumby. Right on Bumby. Left at light on Central Blvd.
Both from east Orlando: it makes a right jog after 4 blocks. Turn left staying on Central and immediately park in the church lot on the corner. Walk on Central left to park entrance at drive in (past the building) and left following the sidewalk to end at Pavilion #3. Information on day of walk, call 407.304.6394. Information: Join the Happy Wanderers, Mid-Florida Milers and Suncoast Sandpipers in a central Florida tradition: Walk Around Flori-da, a weekend of volkssports, dining & fel-lowship. This year we head to St. Augustine on a quest for youth through exercise! There are four walks and one swim event. Hotel registration is available NOW. Southern Oaks Inn, 904.342.2354. DIRECTIONS: To Southern Oaks Inn — 2800 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. (Fri & Sat Walks). Take I-95 to Exit #318, FL Rt. 16, towards St. Augustine. Drive (east) 5.3 miles on FL-16 to Ponce De Leon Blvd. (US Rt.1). Inn is on the NE corner of that intersection. Turn left and then immediately right to enter at reception area..
