21 December 2019 Mt Dora Lakeside Inn
AVA Special Programs: Guided 5K Walk enjoying Holiday Lights: Bridges, Ice Cream Parlors, Make a Wish at a Water Fountain, Walk In a City Park, Post Offices, Walk the USA - St by St, Walking America's Ports of Call, Walking the USA A to Z:M.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 5:00-5:30 pm, finish about 7, for the 5K guided walk. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free if not walking for credit. The 5 km guided walk in this bright, cheerful city has been voted as one of the Top 10 cities in which to live in America. Fun and a nice holiday walk through the historic downtown area, lit by millions of holiday lights. You will see why as you stroll through the historic downtown area (an antique hunter's paradise); wander through the magnificently restored historic neighborhoods; walk on the boardwalk along Lake Dora where alligators live, and absorb the strong evidence of civic pride. The trails are acceptable for strollers but not wheelchairs. Pets are not suggested for this event. Please carry water. Event: SE19/Y0726. Trail Ratings: 1C. DIRECTIONS: To the Lakeside Inn at 100 N. Alexander St. From I-4W take Exit 101C (from I-4E take Exit 101B) (SR46) and drive west to North Highland St in Mt Dora (approximately 18.5 miles). Turn right onto N. Highland St and drive 4 blocks to traffic signal at E. 5th Ave. Turn left onto E. 5th Ave and drive approximately 0.5 mile to Donnelly St. Turn Left on Donnelly St. Park in the public parking garage on Donnelly St., which is behind The Lakeside Inn. Please do not park in the hotel parking lot because of limited space for guests only (MAP to garage). Registration will be in the adjacent seating area. Walk from Donnelly Garage to the Inn at 100 N. 1 January 2020 Lake Buena Vista Pirates Cove Adventure Golf
AVA Special Programs: 6/10K walk: Walking the USA A to Z: O, Carousels, Ice Cream Parlors.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 9:00-9:30 am and drive two miles to the start. Walk fee is $3 per participant and children under 13 are free. These popular 6 & 10 km walks are enjoyed all year in completed Disney Springs renovation and areas of Lake Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista encompasses the eastern side of Walt Disney World. The walks take you through nature paths, condos, shops and lots of restaurants. Enjoy dining, shopping, browsing, and strolling through this completely restructured layout around the lake. Trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Drinks, snacks, water and restrooms are available at the start and many places on the route. Pets are not allowed. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545 FL535. From Orlando use I-4W to Exit 68. Turn right on FL 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL 535 (Apopka- Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. Turn right into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue straight ahead to the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Ice Cream parlors, Rockin Around the Clock, Walking the USA A to Z:M.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am. The 6 and 10 km (3.7 and 6.2 mi) walk routes are tree lined walks around Maitland, circles Lake Cherokee, and through city parks and residential areas. The route passes the National Landmark Maitland Art Center. Restrooms are available at Walgreens, Lake Minnehaha, Jackson Park, Lake Sybelia Park, and Lake Lily Park. The trails are acceptable for strollers but not suggested for wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Please carry water. Event: SE20/Y1124. Trail Ratings: 1A. DIRECTIONS: Walgreens Pharmacy, 330 S. Orlando (US 17-92). NOTE: interchange at Maitland Blvd under construction. From Orlando on I-4E to Exit 90A-B. Use 90A, Maitland/SR 414. Exit right to 2nd light, Maitland Ave. From Daytona/Sanford on I-4W follow signs to Exit 90A, Maitland/SR 414 (Do not use Exit 90B-C). Go to 2nd light, Maitland Ave. BOTH: turn right for 1.3 miles to Packwood (1 block past light at Horatio). Left on Packwood past fire station on left and cross US 17-92 and turn in to rear of store. 11 January 2020 Orlando Leu Gardens
AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Walk the USA A to Z: O.

DESCRIPTION: A great chance to visit Leu Garden on a private tour by a Garden volunteer. Register between 8:30-9:00 am for the 5 and 10 km (3.1 and 6.2 mi) guided walks. Participants should arrive by 8:45, park, and walk to registration close to the Garden House. Credit walkers will stamp books before walking. All walkers will start at one time about 9:10 am. The 5K is at Leu Gardens and 10k visits the nearby neighborhoods after the Gardens. Route directions and maps will be available. The fee is $3 per participant, and children under 13 are free. The gardens are known for their extensive floral collections. Blooming in January are camellias, heliconia, azaleas, orchid tree, pink ball tree, sweet osmanthus, and powderpuff. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish and on route. The Garden is accepting donations to assist in the repair of Leu House closed after significant Hurricane Irma damage. Wheelchairs and strollers acceptable and some garden paths are not paved. No pets allowed. Carry water for your safety. Event SE20/116132. Trail rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: . From Walt Disney area: Take I-4E to right at exit #85 onto Princeton St. Right on Princeton to Mills (Hwy 17-92). Go right on Mills to the 2d traffic light (Virginia Dr.). Left on Virginia and go about one mile, following the curve to the left. Take the left turn lane into the Gardens. From Daytona, Altamonte Springs on I-4W, left at exit #85 and follow directions above From Mount Dora, Eustis, Apopka use FL441S to Princeton. Turn left onto Princeton and go 2.5 miles to and under I-4 and 0.5 miles to Mills (Hwy 17-92). Right on Mills and go to the 2d traffic light (Virginia Dr.). Left on Virginia and go about one mile, following the curve to the left. Take the left turn lane into the Gardens. From East Orlando area use FL408W (toll). Use Exit 14/Semoran Blvd. Right for 1.2 miles and left onto FL50W/Colonial. Turn right after 1.4 miles on Bennett for 1 mile; left onto Corrine Dr. for 0.6 mi. to the Gardens entrance on the right as road curves to left. Park and walk to the Garden House. 25 January 2020 Blue Springs State Park

DESCRIPTION: Join Happy Wanderers and visit the Manatees in Blue Springs State Park! Walks include park trails, maintenance roads, campground areas and of course, the extensive boardwalks around the springs themselves. REGISTRATION from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. No group walk slated, but feel free to gather up in groups informally!! This is the largest spring on the St. Johns River and is a designated Manatee Refuge during the winter, home to a growing population of the West Indian Manatee.Trail is rated 1B and is 60% shaded. Recommend good walking/hiking shoes, sunscreen and carrying water. Much of the trail is NOT suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Walk on paved park road, unpaved campground road, service road, hiking trail, Blue Run and Spring boardwalk(s) where manatees are present in colder winter months.

DIRECTIONS: 2100 W French. 386.775.3663. From I-4 W, exit 114; SR 472 W for 3.1 miles; Stay Left on US 17-92 S. for 1.7 miles; right on West French. 2.0 miles, left to Park. From I-4 E, exit 111B, W on Saxon. 1.3 miles; right on Enterprise for one mile; right on US 17-92 for two miles; left on West French for two miles, left to Park. Park opens at 8:00 am and can fill-up rapidly on weekends/holidays in winter. Go early! After paying SP entrance fee ($6 car w/2+ people, $4 alone) drive to furthest parking area by following signs for boat ramp area.
