AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Food for Thought; Points of Reference; Honoring our Flag; Lakes and Reservoirs, Ice Cream Parlors, Walk the USA St. by St. Walk the USA A to Z: A.

DESCRIPTION: This is not the YRE. 5 and 10km register between 9:00-10:00 am and walk from Starbucks past Cranes Roost and north into residential areas weaving back to the Altamonte Mall and finish at Starbucks. The walk allows strollers and wheelchairs with some difficulty. Sign up on line or at the walk & join us for informal lunch at Café Murano when you return; Trail rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: Starbucks at Renaissance Centre, 355 E Altamonte Drive, 1700, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. To Starbucks from I-4E use Exit 92, FL436E and turn right (left from I-4W) for 0.5 mile. Merge to left lane crossing Crane's Roost Blvd, Festival Dr. and at 3d light (across from Toys R Us), turn left and then immediately left to Starbucks. Information on day of walk, call 407.304.6394. 1 January 2018 Miller's Ale House - Orlando Kirkman
AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Bridges, Food for Thought, Fountains, Points of Reference, Str by Str. (Universal, TX), USA A-Z: O.

DESCRIPTION: Register and start between 9:00-9:45. Walk in and around Universal Studios grounds to kick off the New Year. This annual NYD event is a 5 or 10km self-paced walk at Miller's Ale House. This is followed by lunch at the Ale House starting at 11:15 when you return. Register for lunch (so we can provide a number) at the link on web site (midfloridamilers.org/events). Restrooms are at the start and in Universal CityWalk. Pets are not allowed. Strollers and wheelchairs welcomed. Trail rated 1A. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: Note new I-4 exits. To Miller's Ale House at 5573 Kirkman Rd., across from Universal Studios, from Orlando on I-4E use Exit 75B, Kirkman Rd. Drive 0.25 mi just pass the Double Tree and turn into the Ale House-please park in the rear. From Tampa/Disney on I-4W take the left exit 75B onto Kirkman Rd. Drive 0.25 mi just pass the Double Tree and turn into the Ale House -please park in the rear. From Orlando on SR408W (toll) use Exit 5, Kirkman Rd., turn left (right from SR408E) and drive 4.5 miles to Vineland. Turn left and then turn right at the 1st street after Burger King, into parking areas behind the stores. Ale House is toward the end of the stores. Information on day of walk, call 407.304.6394. 6 January 2018 Winter Park at AMTRAK Station

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 am for the 5K & 10K walk routes that weave through interesting residential areas and boardwalks ending past and behind some very nice residences. Walk on beautiful Park Ave. and Central Park. The 5K has a new route. The walk accommodates strollers and wheelchairs. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish only. The 5K is a new route. DIRECTIONS: To 148 E Morse Ave. Winter Park, from Orlando take I4E/W to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. Turn right/left (east) for 1.8 miles into Winter Park. Turn left on New York Ave. Turn right on Morse Ave. and right into parking. From east SR417N at exit 38 turn left for 6.2mi or from SR436N turn left for 3.1mi on Aloma Ave. Turn right on New York. 20 January 2018 Longwood at Winn Dixie

DESCRIPTION: These 5 and 10km self-paced walks register between 8:30 - 10:00. The Longwood walk passes the historic areas and other residential communities. The walk finishes at Jerry's Pizza and we invite all to join us to eat as you finish; no sign up needed. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions. Pets allowed. DIRECTIONS: To Longwood Winn Dixie, 951 West State Road 434, from I-4E use Exit 94, SR 434, and go right for 1.7 mi. (left from westbound). Pass Palm Springs Ave. (on right). Turn left at Rangeline (next light), then right into the plaza. From SR417S use exit 44 and turn right for 8.7 mi. (left from SR417N), cross US 17-92, SR 427, and pass the hospital. 27 January 2018 Orange City at Blue Springs State Park
AVA Special Programs: 5/10K walk: Boardwalks, USA A-Z: O.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 9-10:00 am near baordwalk. Walk 5 and 10km in this unique State Park. Arrive early. Trail is rated 1B and is 60% shaded. This is the largest spring on the St Johns River and is a designated a Manatee Refuge, home to a growing population of the West Indian Manatee. Walk on paved park road, unpaved campground road, service road, hiking trail, the Blue Run and Spring Boil Boardwalk where manatees are present in colder winter months. It's not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed in campgrounds and concessions or on beaches and boardwalks. DIRECTIONS: To Blue Springs at 2100 W French from I-4W/E, exit 114, SR 472, & drive 3.1 miles and exit left to US 17-92S for 1.7 miles. Right on W French Ave for 2.0 miles, then left into Park. Must pay park entrance fee (correct change appreciated ($4 single, $6 for 2-8)). Drive straight to parking by Boardwalk (no turns). Information on day of walk, call 407.304.6394.
