DETAILS: Sponsored by Suncoast Sandpipers and Mid Florida Milers. The two clubs meet in the middle between Orlando and St. Pete to combine forces and showcase a truly nice city, its swans, Florida Southern University, and a very nicely laid out downtown area. A great lunch at the library featuring ham sandwich will finish the event. See Preregistration Section for lunch sign up by 26 March. Walk Payment is at a CP-bring check/correct $.

DESCRIPTION: The library is not open until 9:00. You may begin any time between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00; finish by 2:00. Lunch in the Library is 10:30-1:00. Walk the 10K (10K picture slide show) or the 5K routes. Stroll through Florida Southern College that contains the largest on-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world. Wright referred to his work as "organic architecture." He believed a building should flow harmoniously with its natural surroundings. You'll have a chance to see up close the "Child of the Sun" structures designed by this influential architect. View scenic, swan-filled, lakes that give the city its name. The restored downtown area offers quaint shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Pass the beautiful Mirror Lake and through Hollis Garden, whose design and plant life depict the history of Florida. It is not suitable for wheel chairs but ok for sturdy strollers. Water and candy will be available at the start, checkpoints and finish; carry your own water. Leashed pets are permitted but not in the library building. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish only. Carry water for your safety. Trail rated 1A. Florida Ave. Both drive 4 miles crossing Memorial Blvd., railroad tracks, and Orange St. Left at Walnut St. (light) at 4 story, white, Center State Bank bldg. Left on Lake Morton Dr. Left on Palmetto St. after library sign. First left into Library lot. Registration room is immediately left after entering library. Do not come early. DESCRIPTION: Registration is between 8:30-9:00 am. A shaded 6 or 10km walk by 4 lakes, the Maitland Art Center (a National Historical Landmark), 3 city parks, and homes with nice landscaping. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish, Lake Minnehaha, & Lake Lily. Wheelchairs and strollers acceptable but some streets have no sidewalks. Leashed pets are allowed. DESCRIPTION: Our annual meeting is earlier this year to avoid August heat and we encourage your participation. Register between 7:45-8:30 am for the 5 & 10 km walks, order a delicious breakfast, and attend our short meeting from 8:30-9:20 with elections, Walk Around Florida 28 planning, and 2019 YRE options. We will walk after the meeting in Winter Park/Maitland area. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish. Wheel chairs and strollers acceptable but some streets have no sidewalks. From Orlando on I-4E use Exit 88, Lee Road, and turn right (from Sanford on I-4W, turn left). Cross 17-92 and curve right. Turn left on Webster, right on Denning, and right on Canton. After Publix, turn right into WP Village to Café on the left. From east or west Orlando on Colonial use US 17N-92E to Winter Park Village. Turn right into the Village and right at stop sign to Cafe. DESCRIPTION: The 5K & 10K (3.1/6.2 mi) shaded walks register between 8:30-10 am in the State Park. Walk is $3 for the 5K or 10k route. Buy a lunch to enjoy on this St. Johns River Island. Hamburger/Hotdog BBQ for a $5 donation starting at 11:00 a.m. Tea available or bring your own drinks. Restrooms are only at the Start/Finish. Leashed pets are allowed. DESCRIPTION: Registration is between 8:30-9 am at Pirates Cove. The 5 and 10km (3.1/6.2 mi) walks are in areas near and in new Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista encompasses the eastern side of Walt Disney World. The walk takes you through the new and unique Disney Spring shopping complexes. Enjoy dining, browsing, and strolling through this completely restructured layout around the lake. The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is at 12545, State Road 535, Orlando. From Orlando use I-4W and use Exit 68. Turn right from Orlando on FL535N (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the first traffic light. From Tampa on I-4E use exit 68. Turn left on FL535N (Apopka-Vineland Rd.) to the second traffic light. DESCRIPTION: Library opens at 9 am. Register at 9:15 or so. Walk 6 or 10 km in the residential areas around Lake Charm, Sweetwater Park, newer residential areas, and the Cross Seminole Trail. Trail rated 1A. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish & Sweetwater Park. Stop for lunch on the 10K at THE FAMOUS TOWN HOUSE at 9K point. 6kers walk or drive there (1 km). DIRECTIONS: The library is at 310 Division St. From Orlando on SR408E (toll) use Exit 18 onto SR417N/Sanford to Exit 41/Red Bug Lake Rd. Turn right, cross SR426/Aloma and pass Miller's Ale House. Turn left on SR434W and cross Broadway. Pass Post Office and turn right on Franklin St. (light) to roundabout. Take 4th right onto Division St. and the library is on the right. From Sanford use US 17/92 or SR417 Exit 44 to SR 434. Left on SR 434 to Franklin St. Left on Franklin (light) to roundabout. Take 4th right onto Division St. and the library is on the right.
